Nneka Hawthorne

Nneka Hawthorne is a human services professional with twenty-five years’ experience, most of which with Allegheny County Department of Human Services. Nneka has spent the majority of her career in roles that connect youth, families, programs and community resources to one another. Nneka is a CYF Leadership Fellow and currently leads a team of Education Liaisons in the Office of Children, Youth and Families (CYF) that serve teenagers and young adults with experience in the foster care system. Nneka is an Allegheny County native and graduate of Ohio University. She has volunteered for numerous community organizations; and served on several non-profit Boards some of which include: Junior League of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Major Taylor Cycling Club, Young Men and Women’s African Heritage Association. In her free time, she enjoys creating artwork and traveling to participate in swimming, biking and running events.
