Alycia Washington

Alycia Washington is a social worker, spiritual activist and an artist who provides informative resources, creativity and programming to children and families to strengthen their quality of life. She is currently a school social worker at Manchester Academic Charter School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her previous roles included fulfilling informational needs of parents and children under Extra Mile Education Foundation as a Family Engagement Specialist, as well as an Executive Assistant, working closely on administrative and organizational functions, communications, grants management, and assisted with all aspects of the organization’s work under the President’s direction of Neighborhood Allies. Alycia also supported client and administrative services as a Senior Agency Coordinator at Brunner, Inc. in Pittsburgh. Art is also a major part of her life. Alycia’s business, pAint No Stress, offers collaborative painting, storytelling and education as a form of therapy, especially in the lives of African Americans. pAint No Stress was featured as a rotating exhibit at Gasoline Street Coffee (Dec. 2017-Feb. 2018) and Distrikt Hotel’s Evangeline (Apr. 2018-Aug. 2018). She was also invited to August Wilson African American Cultural Center’s Summer Block Party (July 2018) in Pittsburgh’s Hill District neighborhood, multiple GRLPWRPGH events, including their first conference (18-19), The Heart Advocate’s BARE Necessities event as the feature artist (November 2019) and the 2019 Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project’s (PUMP) 40 under 40 silent auction artist. In the future, Alycia hopes to continue to reach people through collaborative art and wellness activities.
