Tonja Grate-McCafferty

Teen L.E.A.D. Coordinator

Tonja Grate-McCafferty is a dedicated professional with a strong background in emergency services, healthcare, youth leadership, and community engagement. A graduate of Peabody High School (now Obama Academy), she began her public service career with the City of Pittsburgh EMS after earning Student of the Month honors in a public safety program.

Tonja continued her training at CCAC and the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western Pennsylvania, later serving as a 911 Telecommunications Officer II and Trainer. She earned her Electronic Medical Assistant Certification from Bidwell Training Center, served on the EMA Advisory Committee, and holds multiple certifications including Conflict Resolution, Team Building, Fire Safety, and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens. Her academic achievements include induction into the Alpha Beta Kappa National Honor Society.

Passionate about youth empowerment, Tonja served as Assistant Youth Director and Director at New Life Family Worship Center, where she launched a youth program and built impactful community partnerships. She currently serves as Administrative Assistant for Unsearchable Riches Ministries in Pittsburgh, supporting women in leadership.

Outside of work, Tonja enjoys shopping, spa days, museums, travel, and movies, and values meaningful time with family, friends, and her sister circle.
