Merecedes J. Williams

Mrs. Merecedes J. Williams is an award-winning communicator, social media strategist, and community advocate.

A proud Pittsburgh native and Schenley High School and Duquesne University alumna, she has served Pittsburgh Public Schools for nearly two decades and is currently the Director of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement.

Beyond PPS, she is the Owner and Chief Film Critic of Movie Scene Queen®, a platform that amplifies entertainment, culture, and community through film while supporting families via the Single Parent Project.

Her leadership and impact have been recognized by Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 Under 40, the New Pittsburgh Courier’s Fab 40 under 40, and multiple media and community service awards.

Mrs. Williams is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, where she serves as Great Lakes Regional Communications Chairman, and she is President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Pittsburgh.
